Meekness is a quality, a divine quality of consciousness...
Last week we discussed why, or the reasons that we incarnate, we come into life, and what life is. And also we discovered how to play in life, and also we discussed the systematic law of learning and the very, very important factors of that law, the one major point of it being submission.
This is the area where most all of us have great difficulty, is in submission, to the extent that from the time that we're little children we begin to become programmed into the society we live in. And within that society we're taught that we have to do this, this, this and that, or all these different formulas of the way we are to behave to gain the things that we need and desire. And we're also taught that there are a lot of things that we need and a lot of things that we desire that we didn't realize that we needed or we desired, before we were taught those things. Like here in the United States all of us are taught that we need a car. And it becomes a great desire and a great need of a lot of people. And within the West, those who manufacture cars, and some of those in the East now who manufacture cars, use the programming that has been programmed into us to their benefit. They make the cars a 1ittle bit shinier. They change the molding and the curves and the indentations of the body of the car to play upon the ego to entice us into purchasing those cars. And we become an employee, indirectly, of the car manufacturer, for we have to go out and labor to gather the funds together to be able to purchase the car. And then there's the banker who's in between there, or the person who charges the interest for the loan for the time period from when you completely repay this labor and fulfill your obligation to those who manufactured the car. And so there's the banker who finances the car manufacturer, which is probably getting 18%. Then there's the banker that finances your car, which is getting 18%. There's the banker that finances the people that make some of the parts that are sold to the car manufacturer that charges 18%. So by the time you get the car, you're paying sometimes at least twice the constructive labor and materials, or more, that went into the car as we bring the raw products out of the earth, or recycle them or whatever it be, because there are those who are in the banking system who use our desires and our wants and our needs to their benefit by... not necessarily... we couldn't properly use the word "exploitation," to the extent that we allow ourselves to do this. We believe that it's a necessity of life to have this, and in some circumstances it may be. And so, by a want or a need or a desire, we cause ourselves to work twice as hard to fulfill that because of the manipulation that takes place within the system that we happen to live in. And our lives are deeply programmed and deeply engraved into believing that we have to have these things. And these are all knowledge within us. We have to have the latest style clothes. We have to have a home that looks like this or that, or an apartment that's like this, or a room to sleep in that's like this and has this and that on it. We have to behave in this particular manner within society so that all of those around us will accept us and bring us into the womb of society as being part of the whole of society. And our lives generally are under a large percentage, let's just say, theoretically 90% of all the activity that we take within life is programmed into us because of our environmental conditions, our society that we live in or the country and those things around us. And so those here who believe that they're in control of their lives aren't very wise. You aren't in control of your life. The society around you is in control of it. Your ego programming controls your life. And all you do is behave according to what that ego has programmed you into believing.
As we said last week, the systematic law of learning is a universal law directly from the cause, which no one escapes, which everything that has what we would call "consciousness" or "intelligence" passes through, to be able to move on to, let's just say, an ascended level of knowledge. Now, I wouldn't argue with you and say that the knowledge that you have in your mind is incorrect, for it is correct. It's correct from the level or the perspective of enlightenment that you have, although it's covered with a large barrier of obstacles which prevent you from seeing the totalness and the wholeness in perspective rather than the isolation of perspective that we see. So, "hat do we do?" would be the next question. Here I am buried, within the society's programming. Here I am, incarcerated within my wants, my desires, my hopes, my wishes and my beliefs. What do we do to gain this total perspective, to awaken our awareness? What do we do? What is the formula, what's the behavior that we take?
All of us are familiar with a cassette tape. A cassette tape has all of this information programmed on it. And if we were to listen to the cassette tape over and over, the same information that's programmed on it would play back to us. And this is exactly like your minds or your brains. All of this stuff is in there in your ego consciousness. And every time you encounter something, every time something happens to you, you react from the programming that is on the cassette tape in your brain, and I behave in that manner. Now, for you to gain a larger consciousness, let us just say your cassette tape is monaural, has one level of tone through it, completely. And we wanted to expand that to, say, stereo, and then maybe to quadraphonic, and then maybe on to an infinite number of dimensions, so one would gain, let us call it a unity consciousness within their cassette tape. What we would, in the electronics industry, have to do is take something off of the tape, or rearrange the magnetic particles on the tape so that new information could be placed on there. For all of the programming that is on the tape tells you to behave in a particular manner, and you cannot behave in a different manner without the programming being changed on the tape.
Now, some individuals would ignorantly say this is "brainwashing." If they were wise, they would say that everything is brainwashing, everything is programming. That's what happened to you when you were born, you began to become programmed. For example, those who are Eskimos in Alaska are programmed to live an Eskimo life. That's programming. And if they came to the United States, being converted, let's just say, to the Catholic philosophy, there the Catholics would brainwash them, clean out all the Eskimo programming and implant the Catholic philosophy programming. If a person were a Baptist, let us say, in the southern states, and they were raised in that philosophy all of their life, or let's just say they were even raised an atheist, and they have all of this atheistic or Baptist programming within their ego and their consciousness, and they met a Mormon missionary, a Mormon missionary would "brainwash" them into believing the Mormon philosophy.
So anyone who, ignorantly and because of their lack of wisdom, would say that what we were saying is brainwashing or programming would be isolated in ignorance without wisdom, for everything, in one state or another, is a form of brainwashing, or a form of programming. Now, they may say theirs is better, and this may say that that is better, and those over there may say theirs is better. What we are saying here today is that a universal consciousness, a total perception of all of the philosophies in unity brings one into a complete knowledge, rather than an isolation knowledge of believing that one particular monaural recording of programming is where it's at.
So how do we go about doing this? We spoke of the systematic law of learning. We come here to the classes; we go out there in life. We find things and we question them. And as the systematic law of learning said, we need to submit to them, or move into the state of submission. Submission could be compared to a tape recorder, where the magnetic head that erases the information already on the tape is the state of submission. And as it is submitted to a new state, it erases the old, and then the magnetic head that places the new information on the tape implants it into the magnetic particles and the tape is new. It has new information within it, a larger amount of information, and a more expanded state. All of the old really never goes away. All that happens is that within the state of submission, is room is made for the new. The old, which covered the whole tape, the monaural, is pushed to one side. And it's still there. And another track is allowed to be played on the tape of the consciousness. You cannot forget what you've learned in the past. It's always there.
And so as you learn new in the future, you have to move into the state of submission, which allows the old to be pushed a little bit to the side, and that information condensed, and a new track of information is placed within the tape, or the mind or the consciousness, that allows you to expand your understanding, to have more of a drawing capacity from what happens to be in your brain. And so the old is never done away with. We just add new to it. And we continue to add new to it until we reach a point where we finally ascend to a totalness of consciousness where we have all of the knowledge. Now, I've given you some very, very insignificant examples like a tape recorder. The mind is far more complex than that. It's far more divine than a tape recorder, but they work in similar manners. What is this state of submission? What takes place when the magnetic head on the tape recorder energizes itself, and it pushes over to the edge of the tape the old information? It doesn't erase it. It leaves it there for reference, if your consciousness wants to call back on it. All of you who have come to this class can remember when you were two years old, can remember all the philosophical programming you've had to the present time. You haven't forgotten it. It's all there. You just have added to your storage capabilities.
What is submission? Christ said the meek shall inherit the earth. It's very difficult for me to imagine individuals who happen to be very forceful, who would enter into someone else's territory and burden them with their belief systems, to be meek. It's very difficult for me to imagine anyone who would take another person's life, who would steal from another person, who would physically harm another person, who would mentally cause pain to another person, to be called meek. It is very difficult for me to imagine a person who would participate in war, a person who would only think of their own self-gratification, only think of what was important to them, only feel that the world and everything should be scheduled around its life, to be meek.
Meekness is a quality, a divine quality of consciousness, a divine quality of behavior, a divine quality of understanding. Meekness is one who is ascended in their consciousness. Those who hold meekness within themselves are divine. Those who hold meekness hold one of the major divine keys that can be held. And without that key of meekness, one never changes from the state that they happen to be involved in.
To repeat one more time, as we just have a moment ago, meekness is the absence of doing any physical harm or any mental harm to anyone around us. Meekness is the absence of participating in war. Meekness is the absence of trying to manipulate other souls around us for our benefit. Meekness is love for thy neighbor, love exactly like we would love ourselves. Meekness is accepting those around us for the way they are, rather than trying to tell them that they should like what we like, that they should behave the way we behave, and that what we do is best, and what they do isn't as good as what we do.

And so, the great key of meekness is what submission is about. For unless one can move into the law of submission when one reaches a new concept, when one has become fulfilled in the old, and choosing to ascend their consciousness, choosing to open their awareness (they turn their attention towards the new concept, to them it's new) to the new knowledge, to the new question, to the new situation, and then they begin to submit. And they cannot submit until they become meek. For if they are a tank, ready to rollover anything around them, or hurt that next to them, or exploit that thing, or destroy this thing, or manipulate that thing, they are not meek and they cannot submit.
So one comes out of the tank of life. One comes out of the ego, and one says, "I submit myself to this. Let me dip myself within it willingly. Not taking my tank with me, for if I take all of my non-meekness with me, all of my abrasiveness, all of my hardness, all of my beliefs with me, it does no good because I am shielded from the new knowledge. I am shielded from the new experience, for I cannot touch it, I cannot feel it, and I cannot experience it." And so as the meekness comes upon us and as we move into the submission and we rest within the experience of the new, we gain the knowledge of it, and we ascend our consciousness with new information to a higher level of resonation, to a higher ascended consciousness, to a larger expanded awareness. We have not lost anything of the old. All we have done is set it aside a little; it's still there, and made room for the new. And the new, in incorporation with all of the old, makes us a more complete person, makes us a more complete identity, makes us larger, makes us expanded, makes us awakened, and brings a larger circle of unity to our consciousness.
The question would be raised, how can I help others being hurt around me, if they just come and look upon me and they feel that since I don't look like them and I don't behave like them, that they're offended and they're hurt. Very, very valid question. The meekness that we speak of, and the non-hurting of others around us that we speak of, is intentional hurt, projecting hurt, to try to manipulate those who we come in contact with for our own personal benefit. One could, for example, come to our classes here, and they could come into the room and they could say, "It's very, very dark in here. I don't like dark," they would say silently within their mind, because I have a belief system that says that the devil created dark and God created light. Even though that belief system is invalid, and even though that belief system is generated from ignorance, this person still believes this. Then in a very, very non-meek manner, in a very, very selfish manner, not loving thy neighbor as thyself, but just centered from the consciousness of the satisfaction of themselves, they would say, "Please turn on the lights. It's dark in here." No matter what the others felt around them, they would feel that everything needed to be adjusted to their benefit. Everything that was around them, no matter how it affected those in their vicinity, needed to be adjusted for their benefit, which isolates them from those around them. For those around them automatically withdraw their closeness from an individual who is non-meek. It is very, very easy to become close to meek people. It is very, very easy to love meek people. But when a person projects their personal desires in manipulation on those around them, they close their door, they close their own personal consciousness towards any experience of another person, towards any experience of anything new, towards any experience of an ascended consciousness, and they've moved into a state of maintenance. And within this state of maintenance, all they do is go through their life maintaining their comfort, their pillow that they establish within their life to sit on, whether it be a physical pillow, whether it be a mental pillow, whether it be an environmental pillow, it doesn't make any difference. It's the pillow of life for them, which they have established of comfort. They are not learning anything new. They are not expanding their consciousness. They are not ascending their consciousness. They are not becoming enlightened. All they are doing is maintaining until they drop dead. All they are doing is maintaining until they drop dead. And they try to do it at the cost of everything around them. For they feel that the more that they can take from around them, the more they can make their pillow comfortable.
Back to meekness. Meekness is steeped in the creative state. When one is creative, one takes the basic elements of existence, whether it be matter, whether it be knowledge, whether it be comfort, and they use those with their Self energy. Not requiring others to be obligated by it. But they use those with their own Self energy in the formula of organization, to bring those things together, to create the new. And this is what nature does. Nature takes the elements and brings them together to create a flower. It doesn't come to you and say, I want you to make this flower because I'm nature. Nature does it on its own. And nature uses all the forces and the laws of nature to bring this together divinely. And you enjoy the beauty of it. And nature, being very, very meek, allows you to be part of it. It allows you to enjoy the beauty of its creation. It doesn't put a barrier between you and the flower, and tell you that if you want to view the flower you've got to do this, this, this and this that nature wants you to do. Nature puts the flower there for you to enjoy it, although you do have to move from spot A to spot B to view it, to enjoy it. Nature doesn't always bring it to you as you lay there and ask it to be brought to you.
The Question would be raised, how do we find our way to this state of meekness? We moved from the state of submission to saying that for one to be able to submit they had to become meek. Now, how do we become meek? Presently, we offer the classes in the love and touch therapy which allows us to move aside a lot of the programming that we have. And as those of you who continue to go to the advanced classes of that will discover, a lot of the things that you believe as the only valid logic within existence, are illusions. But they may maintain a small portion of validity in a very, very microscopic point within the universe. But in its totalness, the old beliefs that we have will drop off and fall away through exposure of the ego and the programming, to a reality.
And what all this really is about, is guiding all of you to the state of meekness, which is finding yourself. For all of you happen to be lost now, within your programming. Some of you believe that making mud pies is the divine mission of life. Some of you believe that gathering the wealth of the planet is the divine mission of life. Some of you believe that doing your own thing is the divine mission of the planet. And all of you are isolated in that consciousness, for those who gather half of the wealth of the planet have nothing more valid than those who make mud pies all of their life. And they will discover that after they die. But they don't realize that yet because they're lost in their own illusion. And those who are making mud pies believe that that's the divine mission of the planet, and they won't discover till they die that that wasn't it. And those who are doing their own thing believe that's the divine mission of the planet, and they won't discover it either until after it's over with, until the movie ends.
The combination of this whole is what the divine mission of existence is. Not just the three things that I spoke of, but the infinite number of things that move into the state of unity consciousness. How does one find this meekness? Only through practice does one find meekness. Only through dedication does one find meekness. Practice of finding the self. Practice of drawing to who you really are, rather than all of this illusionary programming about what you should be doing with your lives.
The greatest disaster that takes place is most of us allow ourselves to move into the maintenance phase. And once we are in maintenance and we begin to become comfortable, the more comfortable we become, the farther away we are from the enlightenment. The more comfortable we become, the farther away we are from the enlightenment, because the comfort is the opposite; the lulling, the pacification that allows us to reset within maintenance. And as we rest within maintenance, nothing changes. All we do is maintain our ignorant state. All we do is maintain a barrier between us and the ascended consciousness. All we do is maintain our comatose illusions when we're comfortable.
So as you come to the classes, love and touch therapy, toy therapy, the therapy classes, the exercises, the experience that we offer here, the environment of change, one is brought back to the beginning before the programming started. And particles are placed within the consciousness, concepts are allowed in because of the openness, and the maintenance of our lives begins to change to creativity. And we move into a creative existence, rather than maintenance.
We can go out and we can build a building 4,000 stories tall that covers 200 acres. We can capture the real estate market of the western United States. We can make 50 billion hamburgers a day. And all we are doing is maintaining. All we're doing is maintaining. All we're doing is doing something that is maintaining. The only thing that is creative is those things that cause, whether they are built, whether they are printed, whether they are spread out on a hamburger bun or put in a bottle, the consciousness of the individuals that are touched by them, [to move] from a maintenance consciousness to a creative consciousness. Birds of a feather flock together. If you are creating something creative, those who it touches, it causes them to become creative. If I go out and build one-half million condominiums in the west side of Salt Lake City and make 40 billion dollars, all I have done is created some maintenance living quarters for a lot of maintenance type people. That's all I've done. That isn't creative at all. That's maintenance.

Don't allow yourselves to be fooled by your comfort and your maintenance and your deterioration. For you don't fool the divine laws. The only thing you fool is yourself. And the purpose here of Summum is for us to create an environment of creativity which will allow you to find yourself. And if you will submit to it, and become meek within this creative environment, you will become creative yourself. And within that creativity you will expand your consciousness. You will ascend your consciousness to encompass the whole and the totality or the enlightenment, as they call it. This is our purpose. This is what we are. This is how it is. No one is forced to, because we, Summum, are meek. And being meek, we invite those who choose to participate in it, although we ask you to leave your tank at home. Leave all of your maintenance at home, and leave all of that stuff out there, because we don't want it here with us. If you choose not to leave your maintenance at home, if you choose not to leave your tank at home, after driving over the meekness and the tenderness of the creativity that exists here a number of times, we won't invite you back.
You will discover that as you leave your tank at home, as you leave your comfort at home, as you leave your programming there and come here with an open heart, that the joy and the bliss of being out of your prison that you've created cannot be compared with any imaginary or illusionary comfort that you believe that you have. You can create the comfort of Howard Hughes and die as a miserable person. You can create the comfort of some drug addict and die as a miserable person. You can create all these illusions, but until one leaves their tank at home and comes in meekness and submission to the divinity of what's taking place, they cannot experience the bliss and the joy of a life out of incarceration, the incarceration that they create for themselves.
